High-Quality Color Printing for Secure ID Issuance
ChromXpert color ribbons deliver up to 16.7 million vibrant colors from Yellow (Y), Magenta (M), and Cyan (C) panels, combined with a thermal transfer Black (K) panel that ensures crisp text and barcode printing. When used with direct-to-card printers like the MC DTC series, a varnish overlay panel (O) protects printed information and ensures long-term durability.
Retransfer Printing Process
In the retransfer printing process, the Y, M, C, and K panels are printed onto a clear retransfer film that is subsequently transferred onto the card surface. This ensures consistent print results across various card types including PC, PET, and smart cards with embedded chips and irregular surfaces.
Compatibility Information
Direct-to-card ribbons for the MC DTC series are optimized for PVC and PVC composite cards. For polycarbonate cards used with direct-to-card printers, Unichroma ribbons are recommended to seed the print area before color layers are applied, making them ideal for laser engraving and direct-to-card printing combinations.
